Project Overview: The need for indoor positioning technologies has been on the rise the past several years as more consumer applications for such technology emerge.  That being said, an indoor positioning technology that can be implemented in a rather simple and inexpensive fashion would be more appealing to the marketplace.  This project takes at aim at developing an accurate and cost-effective method for indoor positioning and tracking by making use of the already existing WLAN communication protocol.  Using trilateration and the transference of signals to and from three WLAN APs and a source terminal (either static or mobile) we developed three methods for static source position estimation.  Having established our methods for static position estimation, we began to implement a Kalman Filter Algorithm as our method for mobile source tracking.
