Alex and Evan with the vehicle


This site documents the undergraduate research done by Evan Nixon (BS SSE & BS EE, 2012) and Alex Benjamin (BSAS SSE & BS EE, 2012) during the Fall of 2010. The work focused on creating a vehicle which could autonomously navigate and perform an array of tasks in an outdoor environment. The vehicle is equipped with GPS, camera, and compass components which collect information for a central computer, which handles vehicle behavior and decision-making.

The current vehicle is capable of moving by computer control, and measuring several sensors. Future work will focus on enhanced sensor integration and further autonomous functions.
