Volunteer Experiences

"During my time as an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis I was fortunate to coordinate and travel for the purpose of international engineering volunteer work through an organization called Engineers Without Borders. These opportunities have redefined my concept of the profession of engineering. Engineers change lives through the innovation and creativity of their work. Therefore, engineering is ultimately a people-serving profession and I have found my own ability to serve those in need through my engineering education. Specifically, our group is beginning work on infrastructure needs for housing and education in Guatemala in addition to 5 engineering service projects right here in Saint Louis. My volunteer work has made be aware of my own responsibility and capability to impact the world around me as an engineer and as a person." - Frank Bergh
