Washington University Alumnus, Dr. Santanu Das, to be awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award


Dr. Santanu Das (D.Sc. EE 1973) will be awarded a Lifetime Achievement award by the Connecticut Microelectronics and Optoelectronics Consortium (CMOC) at their Twenty Third Annual Symposium. Dr. Das will be honored for his leadership at TranSwitch Corporation, a company that Dr. Das founded in 1988 and of which he was the President and CEO until 2009. In particular, Dr. Das will be honored for his contributions to academia while TranSwitch was under his leadership. These contributions include his promotion of the academic endeavors of those under his leadership at TransSwitch and his support of various other academic endeavors through scholarships and grants.

The symposium will be held on April 9th at the University of Connecticut’s Thomas J. Dodd Research Center. The symposium will feature talks in a wide variety of research areas, such as nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, band gap electronics, MEMS Devices & Biosensors, Systems & applications, and photovoltaics. Following the events of the day, Dr. Das will be honored at the symposium’s award ceremony.
