Rode Invited to Write Foreword to New Book

The Electrical and Systems Engineering Department’s own Dr. Daniel Rode was invited to write the foreword for a new book published by Bentham Science and entitled “Silicon Based Thin Film Solar Cells.” The book addresses some of the challenges that will be faced in the development of solar cells for the purpose of meeting our energy needs. In the words of the book’s editor, Prof. Roberto Murri, the industrial development of silicon based, thin film solar cells presents “a number of problems associated to the diverse nature of these devices, with respect to the today generation of solar cells based on the use of crystalline silicon.” Dr. Rode’s foreword highlights the importance of addressing these challenges in order to meet the world’s energy needs.
